The Israeli College of Physicians for Smoking Prevention and Cessation has been founded in2006 by 7 dedicated physicians who felt there was much need in the Israeli community for evidenced based smoking prevention and cessation. As nicotine is one of the most addictive and prevalent drugs in the world, and in Israel as well, smoking prevention and cessation has great importance in preventing smoking related disease.
The founding fathers of the college are (in alphabetical order): Shani Afek, Yossi Azuri, Yael Bar-Ze'ev, Ishai Lev, Yossi Puri, Amit Rotem and Ido Weinberg. The Israeli College of Physicians for Smoking Prevention and Cessation continues to be a beacon in education and clinical practice in the field.
